Hi, I’m Heidi, thanks for dropping by! I created Quill as a place to experiment and explore my passion for design in ‘the real world’ whilst I was studying. The studio and my passion has grown into a creative space to make dreams happen.
Growing up in a small country town, I didn’t have a lot of resources to learn much about digital design before heading to uni, but what I did discover was a love for painting and paper. Looking through the library when I was about 10, I stumbled across a book on quilling and immediately had to try it. I would literally sit at home for hours cutting pieces of paper into strips and rolling them up into amazing shapes and pictures. Thank god, eventually I discovered you could buy pre-cut paper. Quilling has taken a back seat for a little while I discover new ways of creating and designing but my dream one day would be to work with a client that gave me to free reign to use my quilling skills for their project.
Almost for as long as I can remember I’ve been drawing and painting. My mother was an amazing sketcher and I am so thankful for the time she spent teaching me to draw and encouraging me. It was in fact her idea to study Graphic Design and since she suggested it, I have never looked back!
